Software
What do we use?
We use mostly Open Source tools in our work, including the following:EMACS - Text editor we use for all our coding needs.
Gnu Image Manipulation Program (GIMP) - We use this for all our raster image editing and creation.
Inkscape - Vector Image editor
GNOME - The Desktop of choice
Openbox - Don't underestimate the need for a good window manager
Open Office & Abiword - Word processors, depending on mood.
Banshee - Music and manage the ipod.
Pidgin - for keeping in touch.
Firefox - Yeah Firefox, for the internet.
Thunderbird - need email!
We also use a lot of command line applications and custom scripts to help manage our workloads.
